Calgarian wins Canadian National Hang Gliding Championship in Lumby BC .
The National Hang Gliding Championships wrapped up June 19, in Lumby BC after five rounds of racing around the Monashee mountain valley. The winner, with 1372 points, was Ross Hunter of Calgary, Alberta who finished nearly 300 points ahead of the second place finisher, David Scott of the United States.
Meet organizers and Lumby Air Force Directors, Randy Rauck and Garth Hemming presented Ross with his Championship prize of a new Freedom 170 Hang Glider manufactured by North Wing Designs of Washington. The prize was made possible thanks to the generous donations of our sponsors including North Wing, Raven Aviation and Lumby Air Force. Eighteen competitors completed the week-long competition hosted by Lumby Air Force, which took place June 13-19, 2010. This is the 10th Canadian championship produced in Lumby since the mid-1970s.
